It is our responsibility to deliver services in a safe manner, to provide a safe and healthy workplace for Amsterdam Bulk Handling B.V. employees and for our contractors and to minimize any negative impact on our neighbours. Continuously improving working conditions and monitoring the effectiveness of safety related controls are fundamental to our Safety, Health and Environmental policy. Our present Safety and Health focus is on improving our occupational health and safety management. This deals with all aspects of health and safety in the workplace and places a strong emphasis on the prevention of hazards.
ENVIRONMENTAL CARE
Our objectives on environmental care are to be energy and water efficient and to reduce emissions and waste. In pursuing these objectives, we consistently comply with guidelines as set out in operating licenses, legislation and our own global standards. The care for our environment is an integrated part of our ‘License to Operate’, which means that Amsterdam Bulk Handling B.V. aims to minimize its impact on its surroundings and areas of biodiversity. This includes energy consumption, emissions, treatment of contaminated water, use of the surface area, and care for areas of high biodiversity. Our current focus is on the reduction of energy consumption, the prevention of soil and water contamination, the prevention of significant spills and the prevention of stench and odors.
